Pack your bags and let’s explore the city’s wonder and beauty

If you\’ve ever been curious about Cordilleran culture, experience the best of it – Cordilleran artistry, cuisine, craftsmanship and colors with this #AweSM line up of activities in this year\’s Panagbenga Festival, the annual flower festival.

Experience a Blooming Wonderland

Blooming Wonderland Opening at the Sky Terrace, SM City Baguio

The Sky Terrace has a view that\’s to die for! And because of the Panagbenga Festival, they have giant colourful flower/plant inflatables, a Blooming Wonderland!

Fan of art but not necessarily an artist just like me, fret not, we can appreciate art without having to create it ourselves.😁 The Nalabaga Murals around the mall are worth a peek when you find yourself in the mall, it\’s a showcase of Cordilleran traditions made by street muralist, Venazir Matinez and Calligra Filipino artist, Taipan Lucero.

The Nalabaga Murals at SM City Baguio

\’Nalabaga\’ literally translates to red in English, according to Google, but in the case of the murals, they mean \’flaming red\’, perhaps, at least that\’s how I understood it but like, when I hear from the artist and verify, I will let y\’all know.😅

But just like look at the murals and appreciate it.

SM Baguio’s 2019 Panagbenga Festival Float

Other than that, you can also see SM City Baguio\’s float for the Float Parade happening on the 26th of February and after the parade the float will be parked somewhere in the front, like always, remember? Before the pandemic, near The Sky Ranch or directly in front of Jollibee.

FUN FACT: SM City Baguio will not be participating in the float contest because they have previously won back-to-back, multiple years in a row or whatever, but they will participate in the float parade this year, so yay!😁 I feel like it\’s going to be a bunny because it\’s the \”Year of the Rabbit\”, but I\’m just basing it on how their floats were in the past, before the pandemic, but they can like make a 180° turn and do something entirely different, but whatever design they go with, it will 100% be amazing, guess we\’ll just have to wait and see.😊

Anyway, following the Float Parade, SM will have a Grand Fireworks Display to mark the end of the festival on the 5th of March, the fireworks can be viewed from anywhere near the central business district, it can be seen in our house and in my grandma\’s house, because Baguio is that amazing. So, if you like pretty lights in the sky, watch the sky on the eve of March 5th, they usually do this around like 7PM, but the pandemic has muddled my memory and I could be wrong.😅

GOOD NEWS for Benguet and Baguio City locals because you can ride the fun with Sky Ranch\’s Kailan Promo, which means, free entrance from February 20 to February 26!👏🏻
